Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 June 2026
StudioSlots ("StudioSlots", "we", "us" or "our") (ABN 98 660 109 533) operates the platform at studioslots.app and its related apps for dance coaches, choreographers, studios and their communities. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, how we handle it, and your rights.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to personal information we collect about coaches and choreographers who hold a StudioSlots account, the clients, students and families who interact with them through StudioSlots, and visitors to our website.
Where a coach uses StudioSlots to manage their own clients and students, that coach is responsible for the personal information they collect and enter, and for having any consents required (including for children). StudioSlots handles that information on the coach's behalf to provide the service.
2. The personal information we collect
- Account & profile information — name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), and the profile details a coach chooses to publish (bio, photos, videos, location, teaching styles, credentials).
- Client, student and booking information — details a coach enters about their clients and students (names, contact details, notes, attendance, bookings and schedules).
- Payment information — payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers. We receive limited transaction details (such as amount, status and the last digits of a card).
- Messages & content — messages, posts, announcements, images, music and other content you upload or send through the platform.
- Technical & usage information — IP address, device and browser information, log data, and information collected through cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you sign up, build your profile, make or take bookings, send messages or contact us. We collect some information automatically as you use the platform (technical and usage data). We also receive information from coaches about their clients and students, and limited information from service providers such as our payment provider.
4. Why we use your information
- To create and operate your account and provide the StudioSlots service;
- To enable bookings, workshops, messaging, the public coach directory and payments;
- To communicate with you about your account, bookings and support requests;
- To maintain the security, integrity and performance of the platform;
- To improve and develop our features;
- To comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed to run the service:
- Other users — for example, a coach's public profile is visible to people browsing the directory, and messages and bookings are shared between a coach and their clients.
- Service providers — payment processing (Stripe), hosting and infrastructure (DigitalOcean), content delivery and security (Cloudflare), file and image storage (Cloudflare R2), email delivery (Resend), and error monitoring so we can find and fix faults (Sentry). These providers handle information on our behalf under their own terms and security obligations.
- Legal & safety — where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of StudioSlots, our users or others.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where those providers operate. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. How we store and protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include encryption of data in transit, tenant data isolation, access controls and secured infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately to any data breach.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You can access and update much of your information directly in your account settings. To request access to, or correction of, other personal information we hold about you, contact us at privacy@studioslots.app. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
10. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for any further period required to meet legal, accounting or security obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data, subject to those obligations.
11. Children
Dance communities include minors. Information about students and dancers under 18 is generally provided by a parent, guardian or coach, and we rely on them to obtain any necessary consents. If you believe a child's information has been provided without appropriate consent, please contact us.
12. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, contact us at privacy@studioslots.app and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above.
